Membership the diet affect health?
The Mediterranean diet is one of which the Italians should be teachers, and the demand created by a group of researchers at the University of Florence: Francesco Sofi, Francesca Cesari, Rosanna Abbate, Gian Franco Gensini, Alessandro Casini, specializing in clinical nutrition and internal medicine. The Florentine team of experts carried out a meta-analysis of 12 cohort studies, prospective, for a total of 1,574,299 participants, who had investigated the relationship between adherence to Mediterranean diet, mortality and incidence of chronic diseases in primary prevention. And the answer is yes: those who follow more strictly the diet better and live longer. "Well, it seems that a regular membership to the dictates of the Mediterranean diet, rich in olive oil, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and fish with a moderate consumption of red wine with meals, protect against a range of chronic diseases, from heart disease to cancer, but also from typical ills of old age like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease says Sofi.
